“Fostering Award” brought to life for Fostering Shared Services
LONDON COUNCILS
Motion, roto, and Editing for a fostering poem
The Setup
Three London councils - Hammersmith and Fulham, Westminster, and Kensington and Chelsea - launched the Fostering Shared Services #CareToMakeADifference campaign, a social initiative aimed at inspiring more people to consider fostering and highlighting its profound impact on children’s development. I was brought on to bring a local poet’s work to life - someone whose own journey had been deeply shaped by the foster care experience.
The Process
I led the creative direction for the motion and edit, incorporating childlike drawings and warm pastel colors to create a heartfelt, inviting aesthetic.
Collaborating closely with the fostering team and refining the visual approach for the shoot, I sketched out the design for each section of the poem, carefully considering both the motion flow and overall edit. The approach resonated instantly with the team, requiring only a few rounds of revision to bring the vision to life!
The Result
Balancing creativity and care, I successfully elevated the poem without taking away from both the important message, and the poem itself. The team were massively happy and it featured heavily as part of their campaign at the time.
